From Scrap Metal to Metal Park NY

A journey that began in New York in 2003

2003

Metal Park was founded in New York with a simple idea: to transform discarded machine parts and scrap metal into works of art with a new life and purpose.

The journey began with a fascination for scrap metal art and a belief that materials that had reached the end of their original function could be transformed into something meaningful and unique.

The earliest sculptures were created from recycled motorcycle parts, machine components, and industrial materials. In the beginning, sourcing suitable materials was one of the greatest challenges.

After discovering reliable sources of recycled metal and mechanical components in Thailand, Metal Park began developing a more structured production process. What started with a small team of six artists and craftsmen working in a modest welding workshop has gradually grown into a team of more than ten collaborators today.

From the beginning, Metal Park created works ranging from small sculptures measuring only four inches tall to large-scale pieces exceeding eight feet in height.

While capable of producing large installations, Metal Park has always focused on creating highly detailed sculptures of modest size, emphasizing craftsmanship, originality, and quality in every piece.

Metal Park first began exhibiting and selling its artwork at New York street markets and art markets in 2003.

2003–2010

During its early years, Metal Park developed a distinctive artistic identity by combining industrial materials with themes inspired by science fiction, fantasy, animals, mechanical engineering, and Steampunk culture.

Many original designs created during this period remain among the most recognizable works in the Metal Park collection today.

As the collection evolved, Metal Park began incorporating computer-aided design into the creative process. Three-dimensional software such as Autodesk 3ds Max was used to develop structural concepts and component layouts before fabrication began.

This approach helped improve design accuracy, communication between designers and builders, and overall quality, laying the foundation for many of the sculptures that continue to define the Metal Park style.

2011–2020

As the collection expanded, Metal Park introduced a broader range of subjects, including robots, creatures, vehicles, gaming characters, and works inspired by contemporary popular culture.

Although the designs became increasingly complex, every sculpture continued to be handcrafted and assembled individually. As a result, no two pieces were ever exactly alike.

2021–2025

Metal Park continued exhibiting and selling artwork throughout New York while reaching collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.

During the holiday season, visitors could view selected works at the Bryant Park Holiday Market in Manhattan, where Metal Park has become a familiar destination for returning customers, collectors, and visitors from across the globe.

The collection continued to evolve while remaining true to its original mission: creating handcrafted metal art with distinctive design and exceptional craftsmanship.

2026

Metal Park NY launched its new online gallery, bringing more than two decades of handcrafted metal art to a wider audience.

Today, Metal Park continues to create unique sculptures inspired by machinery, imagination, contemporary culture, and the industrial spirit of New York.
